Cleanness In Excess Can Cause Allergy

Did you ever wonder if some of those age old sayings about marketing are true? For instance, we’ve all heard “It costs five times more to acquire a new customer than to retain a current customer.” But does anyone have any proof of that? That is exactly what a group of authors set out to do in Loyalty Myths: Hyped Strategies That Will Put You Out of Business – and Proven Tactics That Really Work. The authors, Timothy L. Keiningham, Terry G. Varva, Lerzan Aksoy, and Henri Wallard are all experts in consumer loyalty and use their wealth of knowledge to dispel common myths and offer insight into what really works.

The book chooses and interesting format – the first six chapters are devoted to dismiss over fifty common ‘loyalty myths’ and the final two chapters are used to learning about why customers are loyal and how a loyalty program should be managed. Each of the ‘loyalty myths’ chapters contains several ‘myths’ grouped together by common themes, such as Loyalty Myths That Subvert Company Goals and Loyalty Myths Regarding Employees. The chapters both begin and end with an example pulled from industry that encompasses all of the myths mentioned in the chapter, with the actual myths discussed in the middle.

The authors spend a couple of pages banishing each of the fifty three myths. Some of the myths are things that we tend to take for granted, such as “Companies tend to know their customers,” while others like “share-of-wallet increases as customer lifetimes increase” would seem intuitively true. For each and every one, the authors use solid historical data to dispel the myth and show the negative business effects of believing it.

The final two chapters focus on seven ‘loyalty truths’ such as “Don’t manage for customer retention before you manage for customer selection” and “Customer loyalty and brand imagery are far from independent; you must manage them hand-in-hand.” The authors do a good job of going through how to build and measure a loyalty program around these ‘truths.’

The book is an extremely fast paced, entertaining read. Anyone reading the book with an open mind will agree with the authors’ solid reasoning. In particular, business owners, CEO’s, and anyone in marketing or consumer affairs will directly benefit by eliminating these ‘myths’ from their business and implementing the ‘truths.’ This book can have a very real impact on your company’s bottom line. Many businesses mindlessly pour money into customer loyalty programs without taking the steps outlined in this book. For some companies, a loyalty program doesn’t even make sense. For others, their program needs a significant overhaul. This book will help you identify where your business is and give you the tools to make improvements.

The only downside with the book is the shear number of myths. Many of the ‘myths’ blend together and readers would probably be more likely to retain the ‘myths’ if there were ten as opposed to fifty-three (similar to the seven ‘truths’). The amount of myths also doesn’t allow for the authors to go into quite as much detail as one would like for each ‘myth.’ There are several myths that aren’t so much dispelled in the paragraph or two devoted to it, but within the context of the entire chapter. It just seems like it would have made more sense to combine many of the myths.

Overall, Loyalty Myths: Hyped Strategies That Will Put You Out of Business – and Proven Tactics That Really Work is a tremendously entertaining and enlightening read. Anyone that has an interest in consumer loyalty will learn a great deal of directly applicable information that can save their company money and help differentiate them from the competition.

Today it seems nearly impossible to open a newspaper without finding a story of corruption, cover-ups, or ethical lapses in judgment from prominent figures in positions of authority. With corporate and political scandal rampant and executives headed to jail in record numbers, the unbridled pursuit of wealth and abusive use of power are no longer options. Now, as an instrument of change, Bestselling Co-authors Vicky Therese Davis, William R. Patterson, and D. Marques Patton step forward to present their new book, The Baron Son, as a revolutionary road map to ethically guide leaders and remake America’s organizations.

After completing The Baron Son, I found it to be as promised, a challenging and insightful work with a life-changing power. For those with no interest in the subject of leadership, not to worry, the teachings of The Baron Son reach far beyond the genre, adeptly covering such areas as building wealth, entrepreneurship, marketing and salesmanship to name a few.

The Baron Son is an instructional tale that reveals the wealth-building secrets of an oil merchant who through a string of successes and failures becomes the richest man the world has ever known. Having started from nothing, this wealthy Baron uses his life as the blueprint for the ethical attainment of riches both in material and non-material form. With many unexpected twists and turns, the story alone makes for a fascinating read, but the valuable leadership, financial, and business lessons formed into 11 “Supreme Principles” propel the book into an entirely different realm. Its archaic style is reminiscent of such classic works as The Richest Man in Babylon by George Clayson or The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino. In my opinion however, the story and depth of content in The Baron Son easily surpass both earlier books.

The authors do an excellent job of weaving their insights on a number of pertinent and diverse topics into a colorful and inspiring story. There are countless ideas that entrepreneurs will benefit from whether they are starting a new business or growing an existing enterprise. Investors will also notice subtle points that can help them improve their returns and avoid bad investments. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, there is a clear road map for ethical leaders to help them direct their actions with vision, integrity, and passion to create the greatest value for all those they serve. Recent history has proven this to be a lost ideal.

As with all things, there will be some people who will not appreciate the book or realize that they are the ones that need it most, but for those individuals with creative vision, there will be no limit to what he or she can achieve through its teachings. It is one of those few unique works that will reveal a new understanding each time it is opened. A book of wisdom for all seasons of life, The Baron Son truly is, as the authors would say, one of the “Seedlings of Empires.”
Fear is sometimes considered to be an integral element of the human psyche, keeping people from jumping into situations that can be considered dangerous or disadvantageous. However, there are times when fear can effectively cripple a person’s ability to do what needs to be done. This is particularly true if the fear comes in the form of anxiety disorders and phobias, which can sometimes be termed as being “unreasonable,” as compared to the more normal, “reasonable” fears.

Anxiety disorders and phobias, while distinct from one another, do have several common features. Both of them are considered to be an unhealthy fear. Both are considered to be psychological disorders, though it is generally accepted that phobias emerge from anxiety disorders. For sure, there are a number of factors that cause anxiety disorders and phobias. Anxiety disorders and phobias can be triggered by a number of stressful situations. But clearly, most studies indicate that anxiety disorders might take longer to form or develop as compared to phobias.

Some theorize that phobias are formed as part of the exaggerated aspect of the natural human survival instinct. Phobias are reactions to “natural threats” to a person’s well-being, for example, the fear of spiders or the fear of heights. The difference lies in the severity of the fear reaction. A phobia can totally paralyze or debilitate a person while having a simple fear will just elicit a response that does not necessarily interrupt a person’s normal functions.

In contrast, stress and anxiety takes a number of formative years to develop, or more appropriately, worsen before it affects a person. The stress and anxiety can actually lead to other phobias such as claustrophobia, the fear of closed spaces, and hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia —- which is the irrational fear of the number 666.

According to some psychologists, stress and anxiety combined with external triggers and internal factors that impact on an individual’s psyche can cause phobias. There are some who believe that anxiety disorders are not constant and can generally be treated with medication, whereas phobias are generally believed to require extensive therapy. In reality, no credible, verifiable studies have produced results to back up this claim . Very little information is available and the research on the subject matter do not necessarily refute some of the existing theories.

Interestingly, a number of modern “phobias” are highly social in nature, perhaps reflecting the growing sense of status anxiety and social anxiety people feel. These particular phobias are generally considered to be non-clinical and are mere signs of mild social disorders that cannot be categorized as phobias. Most experts view these new “phobias” as little more than signs of people developing social anxiety and status anxiety as a result of ignorance or misinformation. There are also some that carry discriminatory undertones, such as a “phobia” that centers around the fear of Christianity and the various Christian denominations.

Social class and nationality also seem to be linked to the new generation of these so-called phobias, eliciting worries of national-level status anxiety in the face of expanding globalization. Social anxiety is also hinted upon, with people starting to become more and more anxious about the increasing upward mobility available within various social and economic structures. There are some that have theorized that people are starting to develop an instinctive fear of what is sometimes seen to be rapid social restructuring, linking to a more personal form of status anxiety than the large-scale example cited above.
About two billion people have allergic complications, according to estimates of the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology. Not any other illness, at any moment of history, affected as much people. Specialists start to face it as an epidemic. Only in the United States, each year 5 000 people die suffocated during asthma crises, and 90 million Americans deal daily with the discomfort of rhinitis and dermatitis, the more common allergic varieties. Finding the cure or the causes for this became, thus, a challenge that involves more than interests of public health.

An allergic person that takes remedy against his type of allergy will be able to prevent the misfortunes of the reactions of his immunological system to an allergenic (examples of allergenics: dust, milk, peanut, insects, pets’ hair, etc.). However, the organism will continue producing defensive substances that can create an allergic reaction later on, by getting stronger than the medicine or generating unknown effects to the person who takes it. This is extremely related to the causes of the allergies, another shady area recently illuminated by new researches.

During a lot of time, allergies were thought as hereditary, given that evidences show that the probability of children who have allergic parents to develop the illness is of 70%. However, the advance of the allergic processes in the rhythm of the technological development and the improvement of the life conditions made the scientists consider other hypotheses. The underprivileged populations of the East of Russia, India, Indonesia and Africa register 50% less incidence of cases of allergies than rich countries – over all when compared to the inhabitants of the great European and American metropolises, where there is more asepsis and medical care. This leads to a hypothetical explanation to the causes of the allergies, the so called “hygienical hypothesis”. When observing children who live in farms of Germany and Austria, where they drink raw milk and have contact with the land and fertilizers, it was proved that the incidence of allergic complications among them is 75% less than in the boys who live in the cities. Another research, involving 480 cadets of the Italian Air Force disclosed that the respiratory allergies are less frequent between military that in their childhood had been exposed to microbes transmitted through dirty water and meals cooked with this water. It’s unusual, but dealing with these facts, scientists are tempted to conclude that the suppression of illnesses as measles, mumps and even diseases caused mostly in children by viruses and worms, – all practically eradicated in the developed countries – can also have its harmful side, since this makes the immunologic system idle.

The acceptance of the “hygienical hypothesis” is growing in the medical community and this can lead to adjustments in the way parents raise their children. Even children who have flues with more frequency in the first years of their life seem to tend less to develop allergies.

Super protective parents that do not allow the children to walk bare-footed, have contact with animals or that only bathe their babies in mineral or boiled water would be, therefore, producing negative and contrary consequences to their children.

This thesis is based on the hypothesis that the exposure to the microbes in infancy strengthens the lymphocytes – white cells of the blood that act in the defence against parasites, embryos, etc.

Obviously, this doesn’t mean that you must give in when your son refuses to take a bath. But it is probable that the human body is not changing so quickly as the civilization. For millenniums we have coexisted with viruses and bacteria, and suddenly we become highly aseptic. Also, our alimentary habits had never been modified so radically, nor had we as much access to chemical remedies and other products as we have now. Probably, in the future, people will try to treat allergies with a healthy diet and less drug prescriptions.

How to become outstanding in life

Having high blood cholesterol levels seriously endangers one’s health. People with high blood cholesterol levels are exposed to many illnesses, including cardio-vascular disease, gastro-intestinal disorders, kidney failure and even cancer. There are many factors that contribute to the accumulation of cholesterol inside the body: age, gender, genetic heritage, obesity, sedentary lifestyle, inappropriate diet, smoking, and alcohol. Around 20 percent of people in the United States have high blood cholesterol levels and therefore they are at risk of developing heart diseases and other circulatory conditions.

Although you can’t change some factors that enable the accumulation of cholesterol inside the body, by quitting smoking, by avoiding the consumption of alcohol, by following a healthy diet and by exercising regularly, you will be able to reduce blood cholesterol deposits and hence, minimize the risk of heart disease.

There are two main types of cholesterol: low-density lipoprotein, also referred to as “bad cholesterol” and high-density lipoprotein, also called “good cholesterol”. Excessive body accumulation of bad cholesterol is very harmful. Bad cholesterol sticks to the inner walls of arteries, forming plaque and blocking the normal blood flow. If this type of cholesterol clogs the coronary arteries, there is a high risk of heart disease. Good cholesterol collects low-density lipoprotein in the bloodstream and brings it to the liver, where it is broken down into other substances. It is desirable to have high levels of good cholesterol and low levels of bad cholesterol inside the organism, in order to maintain good health.

You can raise the levels of good cholesterol and reduce bad cholesterol values by following a good diet. Low cholesterol recipes should be preferred over fast food or processed supermarket foods. Low cholesterol recipes should contain small amounts of saturated fat rich foods (meats, dairy products, eggs), as they are very harmful to the body. Low cholesterol recipes should include plenty of vegetables and fruits, as they are rich in fibers, vitamins and minerals. Fresh fruits also contain natural anti-oxidants, which decongest the arteries clogged with cholesterol.

Use low-fat meat in your low cholesterol recipes (lean cuts of poultry and beef) and include more fish and seafood in your diet (mackerel, sardines, salmon, tuna, herring). Fish is rich in omega-3 oils, which can reduce blood cholesterol. Refrigerate meat for a few days before cooking it, in order to remove excess cholesterol and fat.

A good low cholesterol recipe should replace regular cooking oil with olive oil. Also, you should replace butter with vegetal margarine when preparing your low cholesterol recipes. It is best to avoid frying your food and therefore consider boiling, broiling, baking, roasting or steaming it instead. This way you will be able to reduce the intake of cholesterol and fat with your meals. Try to reduce the amount of simple carbohydrates (sweets) in your low cholesterol recipes and include more complex carbohydrate-rich foods in your diet: pasta, whole wheat products, rice, beans, dried peas and sweet potatoes.

You need to consume plenty of fluids in order to help your body eliminate surplus cholesterol and therefore include plenty of vegetable soups in your low cholesterol recipes. Use healthy foods in your low cholesterol recipes and you will be able to maintain your blood cholesterol levels in check.
We all know a Weasel. You know, that person that threatens to take down your organization by using every sleazy tactic in the book to advance their careers regardless of how it effects others. Warriors, Workers, Whiners, and Weasels: The 4 Personality Types in Business and How to Manage Them to Your Advantage by entrepreneur Tim O’Leary takes a refreshing look at the different personalities we encounter and how to handle them.

The premise of the book is that essentially everyone fits into one of four personality groups – Warrior, Worker, Whiner, or Weasel. O’Leary defines each as the following:

Warriors, who confront change, see possibilities, innovate and manage to win!

Workers, who deal with the ups, downs and challenges of everyday corporate life dependably, and who can reliably implement the change and direction established by the Warriors.

Whiners, who get through life by complaining about everything they do, who profess negativism and dissatisfaction wherever they go, and blaming others for their own shortcomings.

Weasels, who lurk everywhere and threaten your career and life-goals through their own deception and insecurity and who spread these feelings quickly throughout the organization.

The book is designed to help you recognize what group you fit into, give you the necessary tools to get to the group you want to be in, and learn how to effectively deal with people in each group. The book really does a great job of forcing you to truthfully analyze yourself. O’Leary warns you that you might not like what you find, but also is quick to point reinforce that you are in control and that you can make the changes in your life to fit into the group that you desire.

Even more interesting (and fun) is visualizing the people you know and placing them into their appropriate categories. We have all encountered a Whiner or Weasel and it helps to know what makes them tick and how to effectively deal with them so that they don’t negatively impact your life. O’Leary uses the analogy to the common cold – you can’t completely eliminate Weasels from your life but you can take precautions to limit the frequency in which they enter your life and the damage that they do while they’re a part of it.

O’Leary uses a mixes light-hearted humor with a fiercely intense attitude to combine a business book and a self-help book in an exciting fashion. One chapter might focus on a self-analysis, the next might be about personal stories from O’Leary’s experiences, and the next about management. The book is well over 200 pages but reads at the speed of a book that’s half that. I often found myself reading several chapters in a sitting, which is a testament to the writers’ ability to hold readers interest. If there’s a downside (and it’s not much of one), it’s that O’Leary is so brutally honest that it may rub some people wrong, especially those who fall into the Whiner and Weasel groups.

Warriors, Workers, Whiners, and Weasels: The 4 Personality Types in Business and How to Manage Them to Your Advantage by Tim O’Leary is a must read for every entrepreneur, business owner, manager, and worker wishing to learn more about themselves, take advantage of their best traits, and protect themselves from those who could sabotage their career.
The key to successfully starting any business is a good business plan. In his ebook, “Business Plan Secrets Revealed,” Mike Elia walks you through the business plan process step-by-step: from gathering the evidence you’ll use to build your plan to delivering your plan to qualified investors.

His book provides the basic information you need to write a business plan. But its real focus is revealing how to communicate your plan to investors and convince them that your business is their best investment choice.

When I first opened Business Plan Secrets Revealed, my heart sank. You see, I had promised Mike I would read his book completely before writing a review. And Business Plan Secrets Revealed is no ordinary ebook with one sentence paragraphs, large fonts and hefty margins. It’s crammed full of information!

But as I began to read, I was pleasantly surprised. Mike’s writing style is engaging and practical, and his explanations simplify difficult concepts. Throughout the book, I felt as though a friend was sitting with me on the back porch, matter-of-factly explaining exactly how to do something. It’s the kind of simple practicality that you can achieve only when you fully understand a subject.

Mike’s clear understanding of business planning concepts results from experience spanning more than 20 years. Mike helps business owners buy, sell and finance their businesses. He has overseen manufacturing and sales locations in more than nine countries. He is a CPA, holds a Masters in Business Administration, and has served as Chief Financial Officer of two publicly held companies.

Business Plan Secrets Revealed starts with tips for collecting and organizing the information you’ll need. From the beginning, Mike concentrates on overcoming your biggest single challenge–bridging the investor confidence gap. In the chapter “Show Me the Numbers,” Mike provides some of the clearest explanations of business financial statements that I’ve ever read If concepts like stockholders’ equity or statements of cash flow make your eyes glaze over, then your salvation has arrived.

Later chapters of Business Plan Secrets Revealed really deliver on Mike’s promise to help you communicate your business plan effectively. There are complete instructions on writing your business plan, including how to get your plan opened and read, and how to avoid nine common writing mistakes. He explains how choosing the right design can make your business plan easier to read. Mike wraps things up by telling you how to prepare for critical face-to-face time with investors, including developing a 60-second, to-the-point, verbal pitch for your business. Tips on finding investors and a resources section complete the book.

I must admit that several times as I was reading, I would ask myself, “Do I really need this much business plan?” This is not a fill-in-the-blanks-and-print-it-out business plan solution. But then I realized–if I’m serious about succeeding, then I do need to know as much as possible about my business up front. Before I’ve started spending money. Before I put myself on the line out in the market.

By the way, I did make it through the whole book. And I confirmed that Mike delivers what he promises on the title page: he teaches you how to quickly gather evidence, build a case for your business, and write a readable plan that attracts investors and makes your business the most appealing investment choice. Even if you already own other business planning resources, I highly recommend Business Plan Secrets Revealed.
Maintaining proper amounts of testosterone in the body is important to sustain overall health and well-being. Testosterone is a steroid hormone necessary for enhanced libido, energy, immune function, and protection against osteoporosis. In addition, this hormone supports the development of certain male attributes like hair patterns, muscles, and voice modulation. Although testosterone is considered a male hormone, women also need small quantities of it for muscle and bone strength. In general, an adult human male produces about eight to ten times more testosterone than their female counterparts. Testosterone production in men increases under the puberty stage. Normal testosterone levels in the bloodstream is about 359 and 1230 nanograms. As people age, a decline in testosterone production is experienced. This decline causes low sex drive, constant tiredness, depression, and loss of strength. Furthermore, very low levels of testosterone in men increases the risk of obesity and heart attack.

Low testosterone levels result from inability of the testes to produce adequate quantities of testosterone. This development affects the whole body system and causes many physiologic, chemical, and hormonal changes. Age is not the only culprit for the drop of testosterone production. According to David Zava, PhD., the president of ZRT Laboratory, a leading hormone research lab in the United States, many factors contribute to low testosterone levels. Environmental toxins, prolonged stress, and depression are just some of the factors that may trigger the body to lower testosterone reproduction. Lifestyle can also be a factor in lowered production of this hormone. Excessive drinking, smoking lack of exercise, and unhealthy diet may damage the testes and lower testosterone production. Other reasons for low production of this substance are hypertension, use of anabolic steroids, prescription or non-prescription medications, surgeries, cancers, and infections.

People can improve testosterone levels by changing their lifestyles, improving their diet, or by including exercise programs in their daily lives. Exercise and other physical activities are proven to show measurable improvements in testosterone levels. However, these activities should be done properly to avoid over-training. Over-training causes fatigue and diminish sterility, it temporarily reduces sperm quality and quantity. This happens because the body literally “kills” itself during exercise to build and improve the body and needs rest to attain normal cell development. Intense physical activities may reduce the level of hormones in the bloodstream that affects sperm production. These sperm levels return to nearly normal after about three days. They added that drinking coffee after a few hours of training may protect sperm quality because of the antioxidants that are found in caffeine.

If these adjustments do not work, there are different options that are available to treat this deficiency. General treatments include testosterone injections, patches, and pills. Many products like herbal supplements and vitamin products that claim to boost hormones levels are available in the market. In addition to these medication, replacement therapy can also be done to promote testosterone production. Improved muscle mass, increased bone density, higher energy levels, decreased irritability and anxiety are some of the benefits associated with testosterone replacement therapy.

While low testosterone levels pose a potential threat to the well-being and health of many old men, the treatments are not simple. Individuals are encouraged to talk to doctors or other medical specialists and weigh the advantages and disadvantages of many remedies for low testosterone levels. Increasing testosterone levels in men is possible, but it should only be done with the advices of medical professionals.

Energy Drinks Energy Boost Or Drop

Regular physical activity and exercise is essential in weight loss, weight control, and improved health. Different kinds of exercise offer various benefits. Cardiovascular or aerobic training primarily improves the heart and the lungs, weight training improves strength and flexibility, while stretching exercises improve mobility and coordination. In general, regular exercise may help reduce heart disease, cancer, certain types of diabetes, and other metabolic conditions. In addition, exercise may also improve brain chemistry and reduce anxiety.

Studies show that exercising and other physical activities promotes the release of endorphins in the human body. Endorphins, short for endogenous morphins are the body’s natural pain killer, when released this substance gives moments of bliss and relaxation. Research show that people who exercise regularly have more energy and better self-esteem. These workouts should be done properly to avoid injuries and other unwanted effects. Improper weight training, over-stressing the back muscles, or failure to perform warm ups may cause lower back pain that may lead to serious back injuries.

Because of its physical and mental health benefits, many people have incorporated exercise in their lifestyles. However because of money constraints, certain individuals are not able to go to the gym or purchase the necessary equipments. One of the best options these individuals can consider is using a fitness ball, which has become popular among many health and exercise enthusiasts.

A fitness ball, also known as Pilates ball, stability ball, Swiss ball, and gym ball is made of elastic rubber which usually has a diameter of 14 to 34 inches. Instead of exercising directly on a flat surface, exercising with a fitness ball provides instability that create tension to certain muscle parts. These muscles gain strength as they try to maintain balance. With frequent training, these muscles may become stronger and gain mass overtime. In addition, fitness balls works effectively while causing minimal strain or injuries. Many fitness experts reveal that fitness ball exercises, if executed wrongly may cause injury. Nonetheless, training on a fitness ball is one way of working out many hard-to-reach muscles. Adding a fitness ball in a fitness program may help surpass some difficult levels involved during exercise. Studies show that by simply sitting on the ball, stabilizer muscles are activated, these muscles are essential in improving one’s posture. A confusing situation. A hard exam. A long, tedious talk. In situations like these, a person may normally feel like having a headache. But unfortunately, some people experience more than just a simple headache. Throbbing on an area in your head may be a sign of migraine. But what is migraine and how is it different from a headache?

A headache is described as the pain in the head located above the eyes and the ears, behind the head, or at the back of the upper neck. Migraine, on the other hand, refers to a much more painful headache. References with regards to migraine include the throbbing of one or both areas in the head (bilateral), sensitivity to light (photophobia), sounds (phonophobia), and smell, nausea, vomiting, sleep disruption, and even depression. Having these symptoms may lead into concluding that the person is experiencing migraine without aura, or common migraines. Having a migraine attack like this can make the person feel more tired and weak once the migraine has passed. The person’s hand and feet may feel sweaty and cold, and sometimes there is the presence of a different intolerable odor. This is associated also with pain that interferes or becomes worse as the person goes through his daily activities. Other people occasionally experience the sight of flashing lights, wavy images, hallucinations, zigzag lines, or getting double vision, if not temporarily blind. This migraine episode is characterized as migraine with aura. Also called classic migraines, this would begin for about fifteen to thirty minutes before getting the headache itself.

Causes of migraines may include functional changes in the nervous system (trigeminal), which is a substantial pain road in your nervous system. C0hemical imbalances in the person’s brain (including seratonin) that plays an important role for pain messages going through this specific pathway is also another cause of migraine. If experiencing a headache, the person’s seratonin level will drop. In line with this, the trigeminal nerve releases a substance called neuropeptides, that travels to the brain’s outer covering (meninges). This in turn will cause the blood vessels to be inflamed and dilated.

Because of this heightened intensity of the headache, migraines may not be relieved by simple pain killers such as paracetamol, diclofenac, ibuprofen, codeine or aspirin. They can temporarily relieve the person of the pain, but not strong enough to stop the migraine effectively. Some might experience relief, but these may often lead to immunity to the effects of the drug, resulting to long term usage. Side effects can also be experienced while taking such medications. Nausea, drowsiness, constipation, and indigestion are some examples of such side effects. Medications that are taken during a migraine attack, such as Zolmitriptan (Zomig) and Sumatriptan (Imigran), regulates the arteries and the seratonin activity in the brain. even if this ends the migraine itself, these medications are not recommended for long term use and can give out side effects which includes slow heartbeat, drowsiness, and dry mouth. Although most people turn to medications for cure, a health diet should do the trick. Think low carbohydrate, high fat diet, and diets that are rich with Vitamin B and Magnesium.
A typical day for many individuals starts early and ends late. Routines like this may cause one’s energy to drop and cause many individuals to ineffectively perform many activities. Because of these conditions many individuals rely on energy drinks in times of exhaustion and anxiety. Some say that the use of energy drinks promote increased energy, alertness, extra nutrition, and boost athletic performance. Energy drinks are beverages that contain large doses of caffeine and other approved stimulants like ephedrine and ginseng. In addition to stimulants, many kinds of energy drinks contain sugar in various forms and other B vitamins. Many people use these drinks to replace the energy they lose after having intensive workouts or give them that extra boost before workout. Before gulping these energy drinks for for various reasons, knowing the downsides of these drinks may help individuals decide if these drinks are worth drinking.

Too much sugar in energy drinks can be stored as fat in body which may lead to unwanted weight-gain. The sugar content of these drinks may cause a sudden crash in the body’s energy level when the sugar leaves the bloodstream. In addition, excess sugar can alter metabolism and retain salt and water in human body which may lead to high blood pressure. Metabolism describes the chemical reactions that take place in the human body’s cells that converts the consumed food into energy.

Caffeine is another main ingredient of many energy drinks. This compound acts as a potent stimulant and energizes the brain, skeletal muscles of the heart and the respiratory system and therefore delay fatigue. Caffeine however may increase blood pressure, dehydrate the body, and prevent sleep. Many energy drinks out in the market contain about 80 mg of caffeine per serving, about twice the caffeine of a regular cup of tea. In addition, caffeine is an addictive substance and its ill effects can be felt up to six hours. This substance may also deplete the body of vital vitamins and nutrients. It is recommended that people who consume energy drinks and other caffeine related products should take vitamins and nutrients to regain lost vitamins and nutrients. Some medical studies show that caffeine consumption in adolescents seem to be associated with high blood pressure. Therefore, the consumption of energy drinks by children and adolescents is not encouraged.

Energy drinks often make big promises. However, there is limited evidence that the use of energy drinks can significantly improve physical and mental performance. But once the hype is overcome, users of this product may realize that they are mostly getting increased dose of sugar and caffeine. Now, the question lies, is it safe to use this product? As with everything, the use energy drinks is alright as long as taken in moderation. These products may not be harmful if taken occasionally, but they are not healthy choices either. The truth us energy boost comes from healthy living. Individuals who consume healthy diets and get plenty of physical activity and rest may have increased energy the natural way.

Making a Difference Through Quality Education

Natural capabilities and talents cannot be taken away from any individual. Education however, makes all the difference even in the lives of those who possess such talents. Without education, it can be impossible to find out what you are good at. You might take too long to discover who you are and what you are best in without an education. Lack of education also means that you do not get the chance to grow to your full potential. When you know what you are good at and want to be at an early age, you are in a position to direct your life to the right path hence you grow to your full potential.

What is most important is not just education that lets you know how to read and write, but quality education that will take you to the heights of prosperity by bringing the best out of you. Developed countries are actually now more inclined on monitoring children from an early age to see what they are good in and direct their education paths towards that. They therefore know what they want to be and how to get there when they are still young. Without quality education, this can be impossible. Science and technology is one of the most important fields. Technological developments, inventions and complex solutions depend on science and technology.

Even with its importance, not all children get the chance to get deep into science and technology. The reasons could vary from poor quality of education to poverty that makes it hard for the children to attend school or gain access to the most important equipments for smooth learning. Even though theory classes are important, practical lessons make everything clearer for the children. They offer them the chance to put into practice everything that they have been taught in the theory classes. It is for this reason that well equipped schools have computer labs, physics, chemistry and biology labs.

Giving quality education to the less fortunate

The truth is that you can never tell which child will be what in the future. Only quality education makes it possible to set the abilities apart to fit the children in their rightful sectors including science and technology fields. Quality education is therefore paramount. As far as science and technology is concerned, different equipment is needed to make the education wholesome. They are made up of computers, anatomy models, chemistry sets, physics kits and astronomical models and equipment among others. Not every country can afford all equipment that is needed to improve the education quality. Not every remote school is reached by quality education, but through helpful organizations, it is now possible to deliver quality education in the remote areas.

The science and technology equipment can be donated and delivered to the remote schools to help out the children through such organizations. The main objective is to save the world through educating the future holders who are the children. The donations open greater possibilities for the children with quality of education that they gain. The things that we enjoy in modern times are all thanks to science and technology. It is through science and technology that the world's most important inventions have been made. Under this field, scientists, engineers, doctors and even chemists are born. They are some of the most important people in terms of developing the world and there is need to keep the flow growing. More and more inventions and innovations are required to keep making the world a better place and find solutions to the most pressing world problems.

Science and technology is demanding for better and more creative minds that can make improvements on what is already in existence. Or come up with newer ideas and inventions leading to developments that will better the world. The truth is that a good doctor cannot remain an efficient doctor for the rest of his life and a scientist as well. A new generation of doctors and engineers of scientists needs to take over to continue the legacies or even set out new ones for better delivery of services and solutions. This draws the attention to education that brings out the best from aspiring engineers and doctors among all others.

In as much as education is important for the passing of the science and technology developments, some children do not have the required equipment to get their hands on experiments which can open up their minds to the possibilities that can change the future. Poverty is one of the aspects affecting the quality of education in most countries. Remote areas are usually forgotten yet the children in such areas also hunger for education to a better life in the future. They could be the children that science and technology needs to keep the future protected. Without the equipment they need, the children just wither away and don't grow to their full potential.

What can be done?

To keep up with the demands of science and technology, there is need to make sure that the little minds are given an environment to grow to their full potential. They could be the innovators and solution finders that the world needs to handle it problems. They could also be the shining light, that the remote areas and poverty stricken homes need to rise in terms of development. A better life is guaranteed where there is quality education. Considering that third world countries might not be able to reach out to every needy school, hence reaching to the children, a helping hand comes in handy.

The needed school science and technology equipment can be donated to the schools to make it possible for the children to get a quality education that unlocks their career possibilities. Different equipment can be donated and distributed with the help of non-profit organizations dedicated to giving quality education to the less fortunate. Besides buying the equipment, old equipment such as computers and laptops can be donated or monetary donations made to help the organizations buy the needed equipment for the needy schools. Today I saw a sex tape like nothing you've ever seen before. It was a sex tape that was incredibly explicit yet it didn't invade anyone's privacy, identify or embarrass anyone. There wasn't a celebrity to be seen. Anywhere. At least I don't think there was. Of course it included your customary bit of nudity. There has to be. It's a sex tape after-all. But not in the way you would ever expect. Let me explain.

It was a sex tape made by a bunch of medical scientists. They created it using footage from literally hundreds of MRI scans. For those who don't know, MRI stands for Magnetic Resonance Imaging. It produces a 3D map of the human body, but it can pretty much do anything. MRI scans are a great tool for doctors because they produce incredibly detailed images through magnetic fields, that map the position of water molecules which exist in varying densities in different types of human tissue. Here's the really technical explanation for how MRI scans work. An MRI scanner uses a strong magnetic field and the pulses of radio waves to manipulate hydrogen protons in the human body. When the radio frequency source is switched off, the hydrogen protons reveal their position in the body by re-emitting energy, which is then captured and translated into images. Pretty simple really. I am joking.

MRI scanning is completely different from CAT scans or X-rays. They are generally more expensive and take more time but they provide much greater detailed information about the soft tissue of the human body. The MRI scanner is a huge machine with what looks like a tunnel in the middle. The patient lies flat and they are then inserted inside the scanner. It doesn't use harmful radiation. And that results in two types of benefits. Firstly, it isn't dangerous in any way to the person being scanned which means they can spend much longer in the machine and secondly, scientists can take a lot more pictures, which is what a group of medical experts set out to do.

Medical scientists wanted an answer to this question: What would the normal stuff, we humans do with our bodies every day of our lives, actually look like if you could see inside someone? They asked for and got a group of volunteers prepared to do whatever was asked of them. What followed was something incredible. There was a 3D image of a knee being bent, showing the muscles and tendons stretching. And a beating heart, showing the left and right ventricles, pumping blood throughout the body. There were pictures of someone drinking pineapple juice. We see the juice in the mouth and when it is swallowed we can follow its passage down the oesphagus into the stomach. There is a 3D image of how the tongue behaves when someone is playing the trumpet and two people, one speaking Chinese and the other German. We see how the vocal chords open and close. Believe or not there were moving pictures of someone defacating. We see the faeces in the rectum being expelled from the body. It is extraordinary, shocking and fascinating at the same time. It was to me. Then the video gets into the X-rated stuff.

The 3 D pictures begin with a man and a woman passionately kissing, both of them in an obvious state of sexual arousal. We see the two hearts literally beating faster. It progresses to tongue kissing. Nothing is left to the imagination. It then cuts to the 3D image of lovemaking. The image shown is the antithesis of pornography. It is completely anonymous and stripped back to the sheer physicality of two human beings mating. We know it is a man and a woman but that is all we know. It is both fascinating and beautiful. Finally we see life being born. We see Twins in the uterus before birth and then the actual birth itself.

It was a once in a lifetime experience for researchers and the people who participated. It wasn't ever painful nor was it dangerous yet it revealed never seen before images. The only unpleasant side effect might have been the constantly loud buzzing noise of the MRI machine. It's the sort of video that anyone would find fascinating.. If nothing else it provides a greater appreciation of who we are and what we are made of and how it all works. What it tells me is the human body is a perfect machine, but its perfection, lies in its myriad of imperfections. Congress and the National Parks Service have become involved in the preservation of the World War II camp sites which imprisoned Japanese Americans and immigrants from Japan during World War II. The Constitution did not protect these people who had done no wrong and were falsely imprisoned for no reason other than their ethnic heritage. It was later determined that the incarceration was due to racial discrimination, war hysteria, and the failure of political leadership at that time.

After the bombing of Pearl Harbor in Hawaii by Japan on December 7, 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066 which gave the military commander the authority to remove any persons from designated areas. The order was used only in the Western Defense Command to force Japanese Americans and their immigrant parents to leave their homes on the West Coast of the continental United States and to be incarcerated in camps which were built in remote and desolate areas of the country. Most lost everything they had possessed, including their homes, belongings, pets, friends, and freedom.

The people of Japanese heritage were at first put into temporary assembly centers which were often at racetracks or fairgrounds. Horse stalls became home for these people until the camps were constructed. There were ten camps which included two in California, two in Arizona on Indian reservations, one in Idaho, one in Utah, one in Colorado, one in Wyoming, and two in Arkansas. Rows and rows of army type barracks were built to house the people where whole families lived in one room. The normal comforts of home were not available to them.

Most of those incarcerated were citizens of the United States, having been born in this country. Although some people were allowed to leave the camps if they found employment or universities which would accept them outside of the West Coast, most remained incarcerated in the camps for the duration of the war. The loss of their liberty and freedom caused great pain and hardship from which some never recovered.

In order to help tell the Japanese American story and to ensure that no other people will ever have to suffer the indignities and travesty of justice which were inflicted upon the innocent Japanese Americans, there is an effort to preserve the camp sites. In 2006 Congress passed a bill signed by President George W. Bush to allow for measures to preserve the sites where the people of Japanese heritage from the West Coast of the United States were held as prisoners surrounded by barbed wire and armed guards. The camps are a reminder of a past dark period in history.

How To Choose The Best Course For You

Along Highway 97, near the picturesque Central Oregon resort community of Sunriver stands a roadside sign erected in 2009. It reads, "World War II Veterans Historic Highway." A few of the highway vehicles pass the sign then turn into Sunriver, while the majority of traffic quickly continues on. Many of the drivers passing the sign don't know Camp Abbot's exact location, nor of its historical significance. Yet, Camp Abbot trainees made up the largest military training exercise in Pacific Northwest history.

Construction of Camp Abbot began in late 1942. Fewer than two years later it closed. Located in a cathedral of pine trees, Camp Abbot was a beehive of activity while a United States Army training center. Thousands trained here. The remoteness didn't dampen their enthusiasm to become combat engineers, they were an elite group.

The afternoon sun is ablaze on the tops of the tress in the clearing of what are now the Sunriver community and the Deschutes National Forest. It takes some imagining to understand what life must have been like for those training in this now hush forest.

In need of a prompt combat engineer training facility, the War Department established and developed Camp Abbot along the Deschutes River near Bend, Oregon in five-months. Unlike army forts, built as permanent installations, Camp Abbot was built merely as a temporary facility. It was one of only three World War II combat engineer training centers in the United States, the other two being Fort Belvoir, Virginia and Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

The first trainees arrived in March 1943. Ten thousand soldiers trained in 17-week cycles. More than 90,000 combat engineers trained at Camp Abbot before the base closed in 1944. They trained in infantry, armor, artillery, air forces, engineers and support units in specific combat problems, such as an attack and defense of a river line and an assault and occupation of defensive positions.

Before training began, army engineers had to complete infrastructure projects such as construction of air fields, supply depots and a Signal Corps battalion as a communication network in the maneuver area. Army combat aircraft were used to support ground forces. These exercises simulated real combat and ran several days, often round the clock.

Occasionally civilian highways like U.S. Highways 97 and 395 and Cascade Mountain roads needed to be used during exercises. Residents were warned to use caution and obey directions from the military police when traveling anywhere in the maneuver area. In November 1943, the army declared that they would repair roads damaged by tanks and other heavy vehicles used in their operation.

The exercise christened "Oregon Maneuver" was deemed a success. Involving more than 100,000 American soldiers and airmen, it is regarded as the largest military training exercise in Pacific Northwest history. Following completion, participants were sent into North Africa for staging before participating in combat operations in Italy. One division went to Hawaii to prepare for the invasion of the Philippines and fighting in Okinawa. Another division landed in France and participated in combat operations in northern France, the Rhineland and central Germany.

Camp Abbot, located in the High Desert just north of the small town of La Pine and south of Bend, had just one function during its 14-month existence - to serve as a World War II Corps of Engineers training center. Some of the former army camp's land was sold for development in the mid-1960's and became an upscale resort community. One building remains from the original camp. The still beautiful log officers club is now known as the "Great Hall" and rented for events such as conventions and weddings. Some guests know instantly, they have stepped into a page of history.

As you grow older, your interests may suddenly change because you may discover that career prospects have to be practical, especially when you want to have a family. You want to be financially stable. In today's world, certain careers take off better than other careers. This means that they not only pay more but that they present more opportunities - like careers in engineering.

So whether you're about to enter college or have been indecisive about your options, consider engineering degrees today. There are a number of reasons why many young people opt to take engineering. Below are the top ones you might want to consider.

- An engineering course today could guarantee you a job when you graduate. You can thank the aging baby boomers in the power industry. Recent reports reveal that half of the engineers in that industry are set to retire in several years, leaving cushy positions in the power sector. Aside from the fact that many engineers are about to retire, certain industries are also fueling demand for engineers. The construction industry, for one, is seeing an increase in projects. This surge in demand is due to the country's aging infrastructure as well as the onslaught of super storms destroying many structures, or at the very least, leaving them unsafe. So more civil engineers are needed.

- With energy exploration on the rise, your highly specialized engineering degree is bound to get you a good position in a global company and have the highest median salary.

- These courses promise versatility, security and growth. These are not the only benefits to choosing an engineering degree today, though. Yes, there is more. Prospects for engineering careers continue to rise, with varying reports revealing hundreds and thousands of jobs will open up for different types of engineers - from mechanical engineers to electrical engineers. The need for more engineers with wide ranging skill sets is so enormous that companies are looking to different countries to fill the void. And with this ever-growing demand comes job security. Whether you are just fresh out of high school or you're looking to take up another course, you need to put some careful thought into the program you will enrol on next. This is because you don't want to waste the money you will pay for your tuition fee and of course, your time in enrolling on a program and deciding midway during the semester that you don't like the subjects or lessons that you're currently learning about.

In addition, it is important to choose the best program you will enroll on because this will make or break your career after you complete your studies. As such, it really is essential to carefully think about the course you want and need to study before finally signing up for one.

To help you find the most suitable and even the best course for you, keep the following tips in mind:

• Determine your interests and talents. Now would be a good time for you to think about the things that you are interested in and the one that most interests you. Do you like math? Maybe you'd like to take up an engineering course. Do you love writing? Journalism would a good course for you to enroll in. Or do you love drawing or are fond of sketching? You can take up architecture or enroll in an arts course. Find out what you are passionate about and in what areas you have some talent in and you will be able to choose the right course that should enroll on.

• Narrow down your list of courses that interest you. There will be several courses that will offer the same subjects or units. You have to make sure that you correctly choose the specific program you will enroll on and one that you won't regret signing up for. Make sure you read the course description and all the description of the units you will have to take up under this course so that you won't go blindly when you sign up for it.

• Consider all the expenses. You have to be realistic as well: you need to consider the finances you have at hand and the expenses you or your parents will have to pay for when you start studying. Find out if you (and your parents) can afford to pay for all the course fees and other extra expenses that come with this course.

• Finally, look at the career prospects. You don't want to take up a course that would be considered "obsolete" or not useful in the future. As such, when choosing a good course, read about the career prospects and find out the employment opportunities available for you when you graduate. After studying, you will definitely want to get a good job immediately and earn financial freedom and you can achieve this when you choose the right course today. Fluorescence in Situ Hybridization or FISH as it is popularly known is a scientific technique implemented by experts to identify chromosomal disorders. Ever since its inception, this technique has been extremely popular in detecting genetic disorders well in advance to facilitate their cure. In fact, the advancement in this technique makes it effective against detecting haematological malignancies and solid tumours as well.

How does it work?

While the medical details of this procedure are best explained in several books and journals, the basic definition of this technique is relatively simpler. FISH or Fluorescence in Situ Hybridization is applied by studying the cell reproduction cycle. Even in this cycle, the focus in on studying the nuclei interface to spot any chromosomal abnormalities. Prior to applying this technique, the genetic experts isolate segments of DNA or RNA, purify them and then start the analysis by using an artificial probe that has a similar chromosomal foundation. During the process, fluorescent tags are used to label and isolate different strands. Thanks to this similarity in chromosome structure, this probe attracts similar chromosomes making it easier for the doctors to identify the fault and its impact on the genetic make-up of the individual.

Why FISH works better?

Genetics offers several types of methods to identify chromosomal defects. However, Fluorescence in Situ Hybridization continues to remain one of the most popular options. This is because of the versatility of the procedure and its ability to identify the faults more accurately. Additionally, FISH is faster than most of the other techniques that medical experts are known to use. Also, unlike the other techniques, application of FISH techniques is not restricted to cells that actively divide. Genetic experts also use the FISH technique on non-dividing cells to identify the faulty chromosomes.

Understanding the pros and cons!

We have already told you that Fluorescence in Situ Hybridization has several advantages over the traditional laboratory procedures. Some of them include the ability to study cells in their natural habitat as well as studying the exact composition of the cells. This also aids in getting better and more accurate results. You can also apply the FISH techniques to study cells derived from bone marrow. However, there is a major disadvantage of the Fluorescence in Situ Hybridization process which consists of long time involved in preparing the probes required to implement the procedure. After all, specific DNA strands have to be identified and accordingly the sequence of the probe is prepared prior to implementation.

New Master's Degree Program Options Can Enhance Your Career

MOOCs are just something that hit the free scene on the internet last year and have somehow taken on a mind of their own. Well it seems that way from a MOOCers point of view. Whether they are as popular as they were is hard to determine. Because each MOOC is different you cannot compare across MOOCs. Whereas one MOOC might have an active forum, others do not. And it depends on the students.

One thing I have noticed is the quality of students has increased dramatically over the past few MOOCs. I do not know if that is over most MOOCs or just the ones I've had a go at. I would like to see some completion figures from the MOOCs I take like, How many students get a certificate? How many get the free certificate and how many get a paid certificate. Just a few stats to see what I was up against. In my humble opinion I would say MOOCs have gone from a novelty to something serious. There are some serious students doing the peer assessments and the quality is amazing.

But MOOCs haven't done what I thought they were going to do, when they first came out. And that was an advertisement for the university and the lecturer who wrote a book. I have only received one advertisement for a paying course from a university, and it wasn't even the university that had the MOOC. Maybe the universities should take a MOOC about how to use MOOCs to get paying students. As has been said before, academics don't always follow their own advice. They must have one hell of a mailing list and they are just not using it. I thought I would be bombarded with emails for courses and books the lecturer had written. But not so.

So I don't really know where they are heading. Unless this is the future of higher education and is a prelude to lifelong learning. A very few popular internet people - I couldn't call them gurus - who live in the NOW, like James Altucher, are against sending young adults to university. Mainly because the middle class is dead and universities prepare students for the middle class. Also because life experience is possible more important going forward. And why start your working life deep in debt. Since the financial crisis of 2007, high paying jobs of the middle class are few and far between. That could be the future. So start your lifelong learning with a MOOC or two and build up your resume or CV, while you are working making money. And not piling on debt while at university.

Another thing about the future is "The top ten jobs advertised in 2010 did not exist 2004" so why spend four years at university when, some say, half of what you learn will be obsolete before you graduate. If lifelong learning is the future then MOOCs are definitely changing the future. When employees accept MOOCs on a resume or CV, then they will be a force to be competing with.

Now what are MOOCs are why have they suddenly popped up on the internet. Well a MOOC is a Massive Open Online Course. Could be an extension of the MOG. Which have been around for a while and have dominated the internet since it's inception nearly. And I would say have been and still are, a driving force on how the internet will head into the future. A MOG is a Massive Online Game, and even people who are not gamers have seen the impact of MOGs on their kids.

Most MOOCs are real time courses, that have strict time limits, and you have to complete parts of the course before the deadline. And before moving on to the next part of the course. Each course has different criteria for completion, but most have peer reviewed assessments, and you have to do so many forum entries. These usually are questions posted as well as answering other posts. And the forums can make or break a course. In some courses there is a lot of interaction on the forums, while others the threads just don't seem to hang together. It all depends on the students, and I think how many are aiming for a Certification of Completion with Distinction. Or if you get students really interested in the topic then forums are a ton of fun.

And you can sometimes get excellent links to other related stuff on the internet. I've been introduced to some amazing stuff on the forums. Stuff I'd never have found otherwise. Also, since the MOOCs are the latest, they are very up-to-date. And you are introduced to the latest in research and where it is heading in the future.

One thing I do like about MOOCs is they show you available free software and other interesting things available on the internet. They have helped me to upgrade my internet experience to new tech. I've been on the internet for years now, and I am stuck using old tech, because I am comfortable with it and I have had no reason to upgrade. Now I've been shown the latest and I'm impressed with it, so I've changed. That is what MOOCs have done to me. I'm sad to say I haven't made any friends that have lasted longer than the MOOC, but I have enjoyed them all.

Now, are MOOCs the next best thing or just a passing phase. Are they a disruptive technology or the future of education. We shall see. Are universities and institutes of learning worried about MOOCs and how they have changed education so far. Or is it, education hasn't changed for the past 150 years. Don't you think it is about time it changed.

Peter Legrove is in the process of writing a new book. One of his other books in education is about teaching your children to read using phonics and Montessori sandpaper letters. This book is about MOOCs, what they are, how to do them, and the effect they might have on the future of education as we know it. Looking at all those wires, circuits, digits and those numerous circles and points can confuse anyone! But in reality, the subject, or rather its components are not the huge green-eyed monster they are perceived to be. Now, Logic Gate is a section which somehow, works in a different way. Diagrammatic representation may make them seem like just a string of triangle, hackneyed figures strung on a few lines poking out but in reality the concept is rooted in logic. Hence the name Logic Gate! The inputs and outputs are all interrelated and the students need to get one right to properly get the output.

Why do we need a tutorial?

Now where does a Basic Digital Gate video comes in here? A tutorial, with all its audio visuals, can help students understand the various intricacies of the combinations of the digital signals present in the input. The Truth tables that are used to portray the function of a logic gate are very clearly explained highlighting their effect on the Gate diagrams. The AND, OR, NOR or NAND gates when explained with proper visual effects can help a teacher hugely who wishes to teach his student the ideas.

What do they do?

Now there are certain purposes which are fulfilled by these tutorials, whether in the presence or even absence of a teacher. They provide a constant source of engaging information on valuable topics of Electronics like Basic Gate logic. And every topic is divided in a series of sections which deal with all aspects of it in a serial manner, starting from the basic to the later levels. Along with the visuals, experts on these topics give their own inputs explaining the concepts further on in case students might need them.

Paying for the videos

Some of these videos are available free of cost for anyone who logs in to these sites but looking at the amount of hard work that goes in with uploading all these detailed informative videos on the various topics, a subscription is required for the team of experts as well the website handlers. A nominal fee is charged and the other videos are made available for the members who can check them up anytime, anywhere and learn from them. The paid subscription also ensures the students get to interact with experts whenever they have a doubt. The interactive idea is also extended further with a comment and suggestion box that the students can make use of. This initiates a healthy educational discussion among students from all over and serves several useful purposes. The value of higher education is a hotly debated topic, and rightly so. Reports of recent graduates of gender studies programs working in retail and living with their parents are not exaggerated. On the other hand, the media often ignores the ways in which universities are altering their curriculum to meet the needs of the job market. There are no guarantees in the current economic climate. However, those who thoroughly research master's degree programs and associated costs can increase their chances of improving their earning potential and landing a satisfying job.

Universities and prospective students alike are becoming more focused on outcomes, rather than on pursuing additional education for personal gratification. To that end, traditional programs are becoming more specialized. Some schools are offering MBA programs that specialize in real estate, sports management, health care, bioscience or electronic commerce. Programs are also being designed to meet the needs of emerging fields. Geographic information systems, game design, cyber security, social media and regulatory affairs are industries that barely existed ten years ago, let alone had courses devoted to their study.

Schools are also changing the ways in which their courses are structured. Accelerated, one-year programs, certificate courses and non-matriculating options for professionals are all gaining popularity as options for students who need flexibility or exposure to new technology or developments in their field. These options provide access to faculty, centers and research laboratories without the two or three year commitment.

Prospective students should weigh the financial and professional costs of obtaining a master's degree when deciding whether additional education will advance their career. There are a number of fields in which earning a master's degree makes sense. Statistics show that mid-career salary for accountants, civil engineers, mathematicians, and economists who hold a graduate degree are higher for these professions than their counterparts who only have only completed undergraduate work. Job growth in these fields is also higher than average.

These statistics must be balanced with the financial costs of additional education. Tuition, books and supplies are only part of the price tag. Students should also consider living expenses, including housing, health insurance, food, clothing and entertainment when thinking about the real cost. Opportunity costs should also be factored into your decision if you decide to take time away from work. You will spend one to two years in school rather than gaining on-the-job experience. Furthermore, you can miss out on salary increases, benefits and contributions to your retirement fund.

However, resourceful students can work around these costs. Online master's degree courses can be a good option for prospective students who cannot take time away from work. Many prestigious universities are now offering online courses that allow students a great deal of flexibility to complete the program. Additionally, some businesses offer incentives like tuition reimbursement or stipends to employees who choose to further their education.

The Role & Responsibilities Of Students And Teachers

The historian A.J.P. Taylor declared that' History is not simply a catalogue of events set in the proper order such as a railway timetable'. This's a contemporary means of articulating the root of the term history itself, which will come from the Greek term, historia, which means inquiry.

Herodotus, commonly recognized as the very first European historian, initially used this phrase in the mid fifth century BC. Before him, in Homer, a past was a person that passed judgement depending on the facts as the outcome of an investigation.

Quickly, by thinking of historical past as inquiry we move from just thinking about this as the past, to asking questions of the past and thus seeking answers. The moment we move towards this understanding of the historical past we're beginning to believe both about studies, and just how the various types of questions we may ask will shape the responses we are able to create. Added to this particular, the target audience for any past is essential - who's this past being written for? how is going to read it? why will they read through it? Although just how we shape and present our writing of history, these problems feed into not just the questions we ask of the evidence of ours.

At its simplest level nowadays past is most likely recognized as simply being an account of the previous, based mostly on research. This spotlights how historians no longer think there could be one individual history. Instead history is actually viewed as being made up of multiple perspectives and multiple accounts; though the benefits of research to support that history is taken by account, in principle at least, out of the world of fiction, of misconception and of legend. And yet, the look of ours at propaganda and also the story of nationalisms shows precisely how fuzzy this particular line may often be, and just how contested the thought of fact may become.

Across the web pages of the site we check out several of these strategies in much more depth. We range wide and far, across place and time, often zooming into the information of micro histories, at other occasions checking out large scales changes over time and across empires.

We look at the writings as well as opinions of key historians, thinkers, from the' fathers of history', Thucydides and Herodotus to Burke, Gramsci, as well as the British historians of the last 100 years. In doing this we find out how writing past has own history of its, and just how it's changed over time. We look at the story of travellers and gypsies and other' overlooked' organizations, to analyze just how looking at history from the margins are able to alter as well as improve our comprehension of the past. We see just how reading landscapes, and utilizing different types proof, from technologies, film and literature to biographies and objects are able to make various kinds of historical understanding. In 1910, at age twenty eight, Roosevelt was invited to work for the brand new York state senate. He ran as a Democrat in a district which had voted Republican in the past thirty two years. Through the help and hard campaigning of the name of his, he received the hold in a Democratic landslide.

As a state senator, elements of the Democratic political machine in York that is new was opposed by Roosevelt. This received him the ire of party leaders but received him national notoriety and experience that is valuable in political intrigue and tactics. During this particular time, an alliance with Louis Howe, who'd shape the political career of his for the following twenty five years was formed by him. Roosevelt was reelected on the state senate in 1912 and served as seat of the farming committee, passing farm and social welfare and labor bills programs.

During the 1912 National Democratic Convention, Roosevelt supported presidential candidate Woodrow Wilson and was compensated with a meeting as Assistant Secretary of the Navy, exactly the same job the idol of his, Theodore Roosevelt, had used to catapult himself to the presidency. Franklin Roosevelt was dynamic and an effective administrator. He specialized running a business operations, dealing with Congress getting budgets approved and solutions modernized. But he was restless within the placement as "second chair" to the boss, Secretary of the Navy Josephus Daniels, that was much less excited about supporting a significant and effective naval force.

In 1914, Franklin Roosevelt, chose to work for the U.S. Senate seat for New York. The proposition was doomed from the beginning, as he lacked White House support. President Wilson required the Democratic political machine to obtain his community reforms passed and guarantee the reelection of his. He couldn't support Franklin Roosevelt, that had created a lot of political foes among New York Democrats. Roosevelt was soundly defeated in the main election and then learned an invaluable lesson that national stature couldn't defeat a well organized local political organization.

Still, Franklin D. Roosevelt got to Washington politics and discovered his professional career thriving as personal relationships were developed by him. At the 1920 Democratic Convention he accepted the nomination for vice president, as James M. Cox's running mate. The pair was soundly defeated by Republican Warren G. Harding. Although the experience gave Roosevelt national exposure.

Some of the older goats had begun to behave like the young ones. They played chase, jumped sporadically, and seemed to have boundless energy. Then, he noticed that those goats congregated around specific plants that yielded red berries. The goats ravenously ate the berries. After he determined the peculiar goat behavior and deduced the cause of that behavior, the goat herder - did nothing.

A traveling monk passed through the grazing area and asked the goat herder if he might warm himself by the fire and spend the night. His request granted, the two men shared a meal and conversation, during which the goat herder shared his observation about a plant with red berries. Intrigued, the monk gathered a small sack of the berries and he took them with him to his travel destination, a monastery. He allowed the berries to naturally dry out while he acclimated himself to monastic life. Once he had the time to experiment with the dried fruit, he pounded some of the dried berries, and the seeds therein, into a powder and mixed the powder with boiling water. He wanted to learn what the goats experienced. However, he found the sight of the black liquid repulsive, with a bitter taste. He changed the color by adding some cream. He changed the taste by adding some sugar. Then, he drank the liquid.

The monk discovered that he had not tired at mid-day, when he usually took a nap. He seemed to have acquired energy. Had he duplicated the experience of the goats? By experimenting further, he learned that by adding more of the powder to hot water, he did not need to sleep at night either. He believed that he may have discovered a plant that could reverse the aging process. He talked about it, got other monks interested, and word spread about the wondrous power of the plant. A growing industry developed to provide the drink derived in the Kingdom of Kaffa, Ethiopia. The drink became known as coffee. Is this story true?

The alternate story: People have sucked on the red berries of the plant for so long that no one remembers who started it. The berries were known to impart a sort of high feeling of energy, and for some reason, people who sucked on them always craved to do it again.
